This is my first Stop Motion Wire Armature. I made this attending the Stop Motion video web course of https://www.stanwinstonschool.com/ with the Chiodo Brothers.
They explained how to do and what material you need to buid a professional stop motion wire armature. As Chiodo Bros said
never ask the hardware store “what materials can i use to build a stop motion puppet? ” 😀
Heads can be changed as many times you want using precision brass square tubes. You can insert them one in another and they will fit in precisely. Rigid parts as well hips and palm hands are made of metal epoxy putty while the chest is made of Milliput that is an epoxy paste too.
Wire is aluminium the best material for stop motion wire armature; it is much softer than iron or steel wire so if you think to build it on your own search at hardware store or on line for it. I had to buy on internet cause it is not so common in my country.
You can find ready made armature on line but they are really expensive and if you have a problem i think that is more simple to solve if you did your own armature and after all this is the fun Part :D.
